inspiration #17: the best neighbors in the world.

this weekend, j and i's wonderful neighbors, bri + r.j., tied the knot! i was lucky enough to photograph the event, and j and i (plus the help of the most amazing miss zora) handled the day-of coordination. i think that every bride should be required to handle day-of coordination for another bride prior to her own wedding - it should be required to get the marriage certificate! i learned so much about the scheduling, little details, and such of the planning process.

bri + r.j. had an amazing ceremony in the Shakespeare Garden at the Portland International Rose Test Garden. after weeks of rain, the clouds broke and their ceremony took place in the sunshine! albeit, the ground was muddy -- but bri came prepared!

following the service (officiated by the couple's good friend, and the groom's former neighbor, seth) the wedding party invited the guests to walk through the park down to oba! for a cocktail hour (not pictured here.) their reception (not pictured here) was on the roof of the ecotrust building. hot lips pizza catered the event, and northwest sweets (the couple's good friend, steve, is the owner) provided cupcakes and lollies!

the colour palette was lovely. the venue choices and procession between spaces was perfectly ideal for the size of their guest-list and their love of portland. bri and r.j. were incredibly laid back about the planning process (let's just say the jacket the bride wore was borrowed off the back of an out of town friend at the rehearsal dinner!) - but they trusted that the pieces would fall into place and were so incredibly happy and gracious with everyone.

some sample photos from the pre-wedding shoot and from the walk to the cocktail hour!
